(Seriously though, I hated chemistry.)
Don't worry, I'm not going to make you Google them. Cu = Copper, Ag = Silver, and Au = Gold. On top of those three, I've also got a Rose Gold and what I will call Antique Gold. Those symbols aren't in the periodic table of elements, so someone really messed up there.
Anycrap, today I decided to use them all on my nails, because why choose one metal when you can rock five at once? #AMIRIGHT?
And what I learned during this experiment is that it's dreadfully hard to take photos of metallic nail polishes and have them really show the true color. Womp wommmp.
The one on my thumb looks silvery in the photo but it's actually a pale gold in person.
Here's what I used for my metallic mani:
From left to right...
- Pure Ice - Fast Lane (copper)
- Orly - Buried Treasure (antique gold)
- Love & Beauty - Bronze (I prefer to think of this one as rose gold instead of bronze)
- Love & Beauty - Grey, with a coat of Pure Ice - Beware (silver)
- Love & Beauty - Pewter (which like I said looks gold in person)
Are you a fan of the mixed metals trend? If you are too bashful to rock mixed metal jewelry, try out a mixed metal mani next time instead!
As a fun aside, today is my brother Rob's 23rd birthday. #MAZEL! Happy birthday bro! May the universe grant you at least 75 Facebook notifications today.
I love all the shine Bailey! I'm totally not cool enough to rock this though. Hahahaha. :)
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE TOO.
DeleteGah, hated chemistry in school too!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of mixed metals.. well, after seeing how awesome five polishes look on you. :D Rose gold for me please!
I am a big fan of that rose gold color too. It needed 3 coats but it was worth it :)
DeleteI love your manicure, the way you mixed up finishes and colors too. Way to be unique Bailey! Anycrap, funny as crap post. Thanks for the smiles and giggles.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading! :)
DeleteI love this. IloveitIloveitILOVEIT!!!! IT'S SO PRETTY! I CAN'T STOP WRITING IN ALL-CAPS!! I'M LITERALLY SCREAMING THIS COMMENT IN MY HEAD BECAUSE I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Haha! Okay, I've gotten a hold of myself now. I SO support you rocking all five and I've usually shied away from metallics because I thought they looked kinda boring but you've set me straight! And yes, I'm ALL OVER mixing metals. And adding sparkles just takes everything to the next level WHICH YOU ALSO DID! All right, I think I'm done screaming at you...for now. Haha!
ReplyDeleteOH Jennie you spoil me with your enthusiasm ;)
DeleteThis is like the most perfect comment ever and sums up exactly what I was thinking. I only have a few metallics in my collection and you made me realize that I need to make more of them happen LOL
DeleteWhat a great idea! I'm really liking Fast Lane and Buried Treasure.
ReplyDeleteFast Lane is like a perfect copper penny :)
DeleteI love the one that is on your pinky!! I couldn't decide if it was rose gold or copper haha. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThe photos don't do any of these colors justice, unfortunately - I took a million pictures!
DeleteI love this look. Very different.
ReplyDeleteBailey, what a great idea! I never would have thought to combine different metallics! I love the sparkly silver pure ice polish. :) Hope you are having a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Looks like you had so much fun while doing it too.
